Thanksgiving Day originated in America, celebrating the harvest. The origin can be traced back to the celebratory feast and invited a group of Native American allies that the colony's nascent wheat harvest of the Pilgrims' in November 1621, and in 1623 the second celebration of thanksgiving to mark the end of a long drought that had threatened the vintage year and prompted the Governor Bradford to ask for a religious fast.
