A Short History of Hockey

Hockey may be one of the oldest sports known to man. Some historians date it back as far as 4,000 years ago. The first mention of it was as the game of "ball and stick." Dozens of players for each side used a simple hardened fruit or a fairly round stone and knocked it around until it crossed the other team's protected goal area. 

At this point there were not many rules other than the requirement that the "ball" cross the line.  This left invitations wide open for people to make their own rules.  But, through the ages the game became much more sophisticated. The first addition to the game was the addition of a few officials to keep fights from breaking out. Historians suspect that more rules soon followed as the game came to be played by more and more nations. 

Safety first was the concern even within the aggressive support of hockey.  The concern for safety has only increased in recent years as concerns about safety within sports become increasingly important to everyone involved.

New Year's Party Invitations That Make The Party

What better time to send invitations for a party than on New Years. Some of the most memorable parties I've ever attended were on New Years. And they weren't all drinking bashes either. In fact, at one of them there was no alcohol served at all until midnight, and then they served some really fine champagne.

It was a big party with many of the people in attendance never having met before. They had very classy name tags at the door, which greatly encouraged everyone to mix and meet each other, and they were given to us as a party favor. Everyone enjoyed it immensely, and many of them were definitely drinkers. They said it was one of the best New Year's parties they had ever attended and that the champagne was some of the best they'd ever had.

I remember thinking to myself that it may have been the first time that they were sober enough to remember what the champagne tastes like.
